Tim joins Sellwood's Jazz Band!

Tim tried out and was chosen to be one of the two drummers in Sellwood Middle School's Jazz Band.  He's pretty excited and we're proud of him.  He's the only sixth grader this year - the rest of the kids are 7th and 8th graders.

We'll keep folks posted of different gigs around town.

CHICKEN!!!!

One of our neighbors now has four chickens. Tim and Holly went over and checked them all out (yup, they're chickens) and Tim snapped some pictures.

Vote Tim for President!

This morning Tim asked me if I thought he'd be a good president. I said sure. He then told me that if he were president, he'd have one rule - to protect the habitat of penguins and polar bears. And if anyone broke that rule, they'd go to jail. Then he said he'd retire. I thought that sounded grand. So, forget Hilary or Obama, I'm voting Tim for President!

Mouse Visits Again!

Mouse (from If you give a Mouse a Cookie. . . ) joined us for the afternoon. The kids in Tim's class get to take him home for a night (or a weekend) and then have to write in the journal that comes with Mouse about what they did with Mouse.

Today Mouse joined Tim in doing homework reading (My Father's Dragon), getting a haircut, going to the grocery store, taking a picture with Tim (Tim figured out how to use the timer on his camera), emptying the dishwasher and watching Cyber Chase. Quite an eventful day for a little guy!

It's all about the hat.

We've been neglecting the blog lately, so now we're catching up on some old photos and happenings. This is a picture Tim took after everyone went with me for some hat shopping downtown. I was hoping to get a Pot Pie hat, but evidently I have an oval head which isn't suited to hard hats that are round. The sales lady explained all this like it was an every day thing, but I am now tremendously self conscious of my oval shaped head. Despite that, I posted Tim's picture of me and my new hat.

Happy New Year!

We celebrated the new year with some fireworks we saved from the 4th of July. The boys took videos of each other once the sparklers came out of the boxes. Steve spliced a video together (sorry for anyone with a slow connection-it's about a 3MB file.)

Lights, Camera, Action

The boys have been enjoying the cameras, in particular the ability to take movies. Here is one Tim did shortly after Joey showed him how. It's at Grandma and Grandpa Bullock's house.

I'm 6 years old!

I had two parties. The kid one was first and then the grown up one. I had a treasure hunt. I had friends over and I got presents. And I had fun. I had cupcakes and on them was BUGS!

At the grown up party I had a birthday cake. Sidra my baby cousin and Auntie and Uncle, and all my Grandparents came to the grown up party.

Hiking at Tryon Creek

We found a snail when we were hiking back to the parking lot. It was red. I really liked it. Red is my favorite color. I didn't want it to be eaten and I put it under a flower.
